Wow welcome to the site lillian.  You have a great plan for your project cuda!  You should start a thread in the resto section so we all can watch the progress of your sweet ride to be.  Hope you enjoy the site!

thanks all I really appreciate your kindness and help.
I will start a resto thread as soon as the vessel and container will be here, but not before beg of january. at this time, it is snowing everyday where I live so it does not matter if the ship is late  :newbie:

thanks for your help Jeff
my main concern at the moemnt is the alternator. it is run by the computer and would like to swap for a classic one, but can't find the information if there is another way to do that than ordering the XV alternator ( can't pay $500 for an alternator ...)
I have a couple of extra ones that came from a 70 340 - not sure if they work but they would be good rebuildable cores. You can have them if you take care of shipping - you probably only need one.

Welcome!

Very cool project you have there.  The 5.7 is a great engine.  As far as the alternator, you should be able to rig one up fairly easily, but it will need to have a serpentine pulley on it.  I made my own bracket and mounted the factory alternator out of the way of everything.

If you need to buy a flywheel and clutch setup for your transmission, let me know.  I have a brand new flywheel and clutch for a 5.7 that didnt work on my project.  The flywheel is really expensive for these things.  I wont charge nearly as much as new.  Let me know if you're interested, I would sure like to see them get used!

Thanks lilian for welcoming another new be like onecatnodog and I figured I would do the same... WELCOME! Good choice for engine transplant! Car Hemi's are the best choice over the truck Hemi's engines...  Lot's of parts are being made for these new style engines that can give them the nostalgic look... Installed in any car makes them a running power house... Were doing one in a Prowler and its just about done... Interior on your car looks like the Grand Coupe style... The wait on getting a highly sought after American Muscle car like the Cuda will add greatly to the stable of horses (Mustangs)that you all ready have..   John(onecatnodog)Collins

I am sure you are anxious for the container to reach your shores. I believe I saw a video of a road racing cuda from France. It was a very fast car and with a good driver.

I have been regretting dropping my French classes. I was only a few weeks into it and still have the Rosetta Stone CD's. Perhaps I will take up with it again. It really helps in areas I travel, even where I live (near New Orleans) I hear and see traces of the French culture.

Do you have any pictures of your Mustangs?
