Anyone ever use a lift plate on a big block six pack aluminum intake? since I have two six pack cars I was thinking of welding up a nice one since I seem to pull engines all the time. is there any reason you shouldn't do it?

personally I never lift off the intake (especially aluminum intakes), but that's just me. I always pull off intake/head bolts.

I've always used a lift plate on my 392 with the aluminum intake and never had a problem. That's about as heavy of an engine there is around, the heads weigh 75 lbs. each!

I have used one on many engines. Doesn't hurt at all. At least not that I know of.
Should be just fine.
