    aftermarket gauge question

    Does anyone know if two 2 inch gauges will fit in the area between the heater control panel and the steering wheel? Looks like they will fit but will it interfear with anything behind the panel? Btw this is a ralley dash. I just saw a custom set up with 3 gauges and no heater control panel.

    They might fit but I would think it would be extremely tight. Plus they would be hard to read down so low and "under" the portion of the cluster that sticks out towards the driver

    Actually its quite visable. More so than the gauge pod I currently have mounted under the radio. Anyone out there done this???

    No, but I am planning to do that with some smaller gauges.  I might get around to it this winter.

    I don't. Mine are mounted under the glove box angled toward the driver.

    This is what I've got now. One of the pics is kinda of blurry. I'm actually kind of proud of my pod below the radio as I molded an enclosed pod (from a mustang no less) to the "L" piece around the radio and looks almost seemless.

    Oooo...that's a nice pod, Dave!  :grinyes:  I have one of those cheap JC whitney deals on the other side of the steering column under the dash.

    I have never attempted to look but just on the surface those 2" gauges may fit but I would worry about the bracing/etc. behind the face of the area you are talking about.  Plus I would cringe just cutting through the factory dash.

    Just for reference, here's a pic where you can see the area Dave is talking about.  Don't mind the fuzzy dash cover....  :misbehaving:
