« on: December 07, 2008 - 10:13:05 PM »
well ive been around cc.c long enough to figure computers out so i will start my resto thread. i bought the car from original owner in march 85 (my senior year) for 1200.00 only drove it 2 summers and the steering coupler broke, frame sag, moved car to my brothers pole barn til 96 then brought it to my farm, last summer pulled it out and gave it a wash and its own shop, almost got it completely stripped and will slowly work at getting it done.car is all original and only missing carb, fan shroud,4 speed linkage, steering column shaft,so far i think thats it my brother pulled the motor early 90s. and lost some parts. just finished e-brake and clutch pedals had to go to father in laws shop mines to cold.and hes got a sandblasting cabinet.

if you have access to a blast cabinet its easy, ive never restored anything til now and was amazed how fast the parts were blasted clean,20 minutes at most,i dont know what to do with the release rod, maybe steel wool,if i paint it it will wear off in the plastic ring it rides in,look at the before pics notice the bolt between the pedals for the steering column must of been broke off at the factory.

Looks like you have a good start. Pedals look great. :2thumbs:

I like your bin stock cabinet. Did you make the stencil? I like the idea, but my tool box is covered from top to bottom with stickers.
Don't look back, I might be gaining on you.

thanks, the cabinet had that on it probably for the last 30 to 40 yrs,it was an old dealership,my wife is going to make a stencil that says CUDA im going to paint right above that, yes it was her idea.ive already taged and bagged most of the small stuff but the stickers i used to put on the ziplock bags are coming off so this will be way better,i can put a piece of paper on each drawer and mark whats in it then when  i put the car back together easily find the parts i need.
