Hey, I used to be the kinda guy that said "If you weren't a Viper fan, you're a douche bag..."

But it took college and some cool experiences to realize "different strokes for different folks."  Obviously I've paid my Mopar dues - why can't I have some imported exotic fun?

Still, if I had $90,000 to blow on a Skyline, I'd probably end up blowing it (and a bit more) on a Ferrari.  I'd give up a kid for one of those.  :)

Jeff

over here in nz you can pick up a gt-r skyline with nearly 1000hp for $45,000 NZD ($24,000 USD)

show me another car for 24 grand that can do 10 second quarters and go around corners and stop as good or better than a new vette.
while still able to carry four people and their luggage, and be every day liveable on the street...

but if we're talking what we'd give a left nut for, i wouldn't get a skyline, i'd build a full tube chassis cuda with 800hp alloy hemi, 6 speed transaxle, and full custom suspension and brakes, with carbon fiber front end.
basically the johnson g-force cuda without the more extreme body mods...

Well, I dont like it. And, besides its crappy looks, you have to shell out $10k every 1500 miles for service?

Good luck!  If you're into punishment, one of us will hit you with a board a few times, and it wont cost anything. - lol

That debate over service intervals is on the new one I believe - the Skyline GT-R.

How is this "crappy styling??"  I mean, it's basic, sure, but it's also from 1998 or so.

I would love to make a couple of passes at Limerock raceway with it.I love all kinds of cars and I am not shy about putting them through the paces. But I don't think I would give up one of my nuts for any car. :roflsmiley:

That's because you ARE nuts!  :)

Come on now - don't deny it.  I remember that visible-from-a-mile-away tie-dye shirt you had at Carlisle 2007.  :)

I believe they were never permited into Canaduh , as I never saw one but heard about Skylines , then a few years ago Japan started dumping the cars here when they were to old or miled out to be used in Japan anymore . Whne I fisrt saw a Skyline I was WTH it is a butt ugly 4 dr what is all the fuss about , even if they can be tweaked to 800 hp who would want one?
I guess I am oldschool but I would take a $500 2 dr Valiant or dart & put 20 K into it & have as much power & decnt handling if I wanted a Ugly fun car  :dunno:

The older Skylines aren't that bad looking, but the new one is hideous.

The Enzo is butt ugly, too.
