Anyone considering buying a New American Car???
« on: December 09, 2008 - 12:31:13 AM »
I've not been in the market but some of the news reports lately of deals on new American made cars is making me think this might be a good time to look into one.   Our local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer has some interesting discounts like a Jeep Grand Cherokee lists at $29,475.for $14,870.   Not promoting many of the better fuel mileage models

Just wish they would put the Challenger on special.  Have about 6 or 7 days till I can order one.  Gordon

I'm sure there are some good deals out there, but I sure wouldn't count on the warranty! :grinno: Even with the bailout I'm sure you'll find it hard to keep the dealers to the warranties, and then of course there's the possibility of the bailout not working...

I'm going to stick to the old american iron, at least I can fix that in my driveway! ;D

Just bought a ram truck not to long ago, the warranty is what I'm worried about as I don't drive this truck for everyday so it's low mileage

I'd say go for it if the deal is that good!  I am sure the companies will be around.

I'd sure like to pick up an 09 1500 Ram, but that is going to depend on how deeply they discount them and whether I can sell any of my old stuff for down payment.

I think the criteria I would use in selecting a new vehicle would be that it must have chrome bumpers.

If any American car, I would get a new Challenger R/T...nothing else really looks interesting...  :2cents:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I'm with ya brother, but for a family vehicle tis not very practicle+++ i could get 3 Laredos for the price of 1-Chally...at least the one I'd want.

I would get an SRT8 Jeep or Charger, or a Viper, but I wouldn't buy any of them new because of how much cheaper I can get a used one.

The 3.7 Grand Cherokee is vastly underpowered and the throttle response is terrible because of the drive by wire which delays the throttle for about a half second.
