Ken,
Are these numbers validated? I've seen an old post saying that 1.8% of verts were M46. But I was wondering where this specific info comes from. It would be good to grab a vert that is one of 15.
Tom
Hey Tom,  This is what i know to be true.  I think Barry has these numbers of production as well.  I would gladly update these numbers if they are wrong, but for now it is what i know to be true buddy. :2thumbs:

Hey Dutch,  Have seen that e-bay sale advert before.   No one has a record of what the Blue stripe is yet, may of only been available on a B3, B5, or B7 car and none of them colored M46 cars have been recorded to my knowledge. :2thumbs:

I do not have the M46 production numbers. Dan just posted them on another site, I will pop back over there & quote him.

Until I get back;

Quote from Dan ( 6bblgt on Moparts)

'70 Barracuda w/M46

BH23 w/A93 & M46 - 2
BH27 w/M46 - 20 to 22
BH23 w/M46 - 433 to 445

I am sure the numbers above are for US cars only since production sales percentages for cars shipped to Canada & export cars are not known.

Can someone please tell me what the purpose of those scoops was? I tried a "search" and maybe the answer was there and I missed it. Anyway, I'd like to know the reason behind them.

JB, they were purely decorative, it was an appearance package.

Alan found this inpection card in the first M46 car he owned;

Also the M46 shared the same chrome grille inset treatment as the Gran Coupe and AAR chrome sections, unlike the 'Cuda wich did not have the rectangular chrome trim inset where it had a red bar trim instead.

Flat hood was standard and rallye or raisen bran hood was available for any Barracuda as an option.

Hey Barry,  Do you have any factory engineering drawings of the grille section for an AAR, Gran Coupe, M46 please buddy.  I am sure i read somewhere that the Grilles for an M46 are supposed to be Black like the AAR somewhere.  Gordon has told me that they came in the argent color like the Gran Coupes aswell as Black. :2thumbs:

Pretty sure they were black.

I do not recall having engineering draws that show all the different grille styles. But, even if I did Chrysler will not let me share them since they have licensed a company to sell them in book form.

They do not like it when someone gives something away for free when they think they can make money on it I guess.........

Link to what I know about it here;

Hi Barry,  I know what your saying.  But i am sure i read it somewhere in real small writting about the grille being shared with the AAR Black grilles.  Gordon siad he was talking to Scott about the grille colors and they said that they were also available in argent too.

I know on the first engineering picture of all the Challenger and Barracuda stripe options, M46 are reffered to quite a bit in small print in the Legend to the side :2thumbs:
