The M46 Barracuda - What were the differences and how

looks like number 8 is also related. 

  I do believe that the scoops are held on by studs and also with a screw on one corner.  I do believe
    every pair I have examined has had a screw on one of the corners. 
       I will have to go and check.

Since the M46 cars are already included in both of the 1970 Hamtramck & LA registries, I went in & counted the ones I know of so far.

Information is not complete for all of theses, but as of today this is what I have on file;

I have records on 24 M46 Barracudas so far. Of these 24;

10 are from the Hamtramck plant

14 are from the LA plant

For the hard tops;

11 are known with the 318.

5 are known with the 383 2-barrel

5 are known with the 383 4-barrel

For the convertibles;

Two are known with the 318

One is known with the 383 2-barrel

These are the color & trim combinations I know of so far;

Here are a few pics of the scoops I own.  As you can see, the aluminum one has no more studs left.
  However, the metal one has a few studs left. 
  All three have screw holes on the bottoms.  One of the scoops still have the screw.

I checked dates too.

The earliest one I know of has a SPD of 8-19-1969 & the latest one I know of so far has a SPD of December 18, 1969. (1970 model year)

Oddly enough, I have not confirmed one yet after that. Yet......

Pretty sure they were black.

I do not recall having engineering draws that show all the different grille styles. But, even if I did Chrysler will not let me share them since they have licensed a company to sell them in book form.

They do not like it when someone gives something away for free when they think they can make money on it I guess.........
