The M46 Barracuda - What were the differences and how

I am figuring if I ever get around to it, I would go with a stock restoration on my M46.  Might add a few options but nothing very serious.

I am putting mine back as original. I located a 70 318 out of a barracuda just yesterday. It has the correct exhaust manifolds and intake, the carb will be different since it is for n automatic.  It was complete and the crank even drilled for a 4 speed. I have the original hood painted, the original 14 inch rims and hubcaps. I also have the original am radio right here.  I have to take the red bar out of the grill, put the non dual exhaust pan back on, and do the mirrors back chrome. I still have the original 8 3/4 and also the original leaf springs. I do need the reverse lock out from the trans to the frame.  I only have to unsplice the harness for the coil extention wire since I put the 6 pk on. Oh, and take the road lamps off, then finish the door jams inside with organgosol, which I have mixed already. So mine will be pretty complete. The trans is a 70 e body small block, but not original to the car.  I still have the original voltage regulator and ballast resistor too.

This about as original as i can make it.  I just procured another ebody to start thrashing on today.

Well I had originally planned on putting mine back stock some what anyway.  It still will be in some ways but I am trying to make my dream car also.  After I get it done it will never go out of my family.  My son will most likely get it after I pass away.  Just dont think I will be able to find another car I would want to make my dream car.

Are any of you planning on a stock restoration?

It seams like a lot of the unusual Mopars are getting cloned or customized / hot rodded, so I was just curious.

Mine will only be altered a small amount, but will be very close to factory when done, just some bolt ons will be different is all, not 100% on what engine yet, but i am thinkig of putting a 383 back in, with a little stroke of course, but look stock.

The things I am going to do to mine could have been done on the M46 barracuda for the most part.  I hope to see at least the pictures of the new side scoopes that Scott is making for us.  Gordon
