Thanks for the tip Carl, i registered over there but cant post yet, i guess my account is not activated yet.

I have a couple of trucks I'm looking at...I want a red truck with minimal mods, year does not mean that much to me. Like to keep the $$ somewhere around/less than 20K.

I dont care about the gas mileage, this is going to be a playtoy, I have 3 Daily drivers right now.

Yup, gas mileage isn't as bad as I thought and like you, I could careless. It's a 505ci V10 Viper, what do people expect for that pleasure? 30miles to the gallon? My (calculated not guess) MPG average is 15.2 - 15.3mpg and 17-20 is achievable if you had to milk it (cruising road trip, etc). Mine is not stock either, around 580 or 500rwhp. Definitely get a regular cab, looks heaps better and of course has 3 pedals. About the VTCOA forum, yeah, they have to activate you so there are no spam users, etc. Definitely have a good read. I was on their around 2-3 weeks doing research and "meeting" owners before I made my purchase.

I would actually look for a stock truck myself. Mine was stock before I got it (only had 5K miles on it). Bolt ons like CAI, exhaust, SCT Tuner, short shifter, TB, etc, are better to install yourself so you know it's good gear and that it was installed properly and the truck wasn't thrashed, mods like I mentioned aren't on there for the looks so the possibility of an abused truck goes up. A red 04/05 sounds like the ticket for you. Plentiful, cheapest to buy and the parts are easier to get, the OEM parts between 04/05 interchange, unlike the stand alone 06 year.

Man,
Carl I love your truck, that thing looks EVIL!!!!! :grinyes:

Thanks mate, I love it, one of the best vehicles I've ever owned.
Mean looks, great power and a blast to drive and now a very nice custom 1 off.

If you saw my earlier post, i was looking at a SRT-4 Neon, but that car went for more than i was willing to pay. I was looking at SRT-10 Ram's, and I've driven one before, so I know how they drive and it was a fun truck. Any body have any experience with em, any other owners on here?

Here is the truck I'm considering

That appear to be a very nice truck!!! I find it incredible that the prices of these truck have dropped so low. The drivetrain alone is worth that!!!

That thing looks evil!

I met a guy with one at the local steak house. He told me he ripped the teeth right off the ring gear (Dana 60) when he wheel-hopped it. That's something you don't want to do. He said the dealer replaced it but said they had never seen anyone do that to a 60 before and if he broke it again he'd have to pay for it

:lol2: Thanks guys, I love my black cars, won't buy anything other color. Lucy is my break in the ice and my "freedom" car. I just like no frills, stealth, covert, dodgy, secret service, bullttproof (but tastefully done) looking cars lol. No bling, no show, all go. ;D Just doing the interior as we speak. When I get time, I'm painting the dash, everything black with custom Batman logos (subtle). Once again, one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Lucy, Madeline & The Batram are 3 cars I'm keeping for life. Too much effort and love to sell them.

What about an SRT-6 crossfire or the SRT Caliber.  I was thinking of the Caliper for a family hatch back mobile.    :dunno:

After looking at the options the last few days, I'm committed to the SRT-10 Ram. I don't care about gas mileage, how many people it can haul, etc... This is going to be a plaything that gets out on nice days, weekends, and an occasional long trip. No everyday family type duties for it, thats why we have an 07 Grand Caravan.

I'm trying to find a truck closer to me that i can get an eyeball on directly before i buy it. That would also save me transportation costs, which depending on location could be near 1K. I have a quote of $600 for the truck in Texas right now for transportation costs.

I'll keep looking until i get the right truck at a good "final" cost.

Thanks for the input people, appreciate it.
