how many on here own a Gran Coupe?

I've got  '70 GC; origionally ice blue metallic with blue interior 318 auto.  In various stages of disassembly in my garage with a 440/727 in it now.  Really want to put in a 6.1 but can't find one for less than the GDP of several South American countries.

Better buy one soon. Production of the 6.1 has come to an end. No more SRT-8's after mid year 2010. They're going to use up current inventories and then that's it.

we are twins!  mine started out same as yours: EB3/EB5/V1X 318 auto.  when completed, it will be the same, except for the 440/727 under the 'performance' hood (with the 'cuda440 call-outs of course.)  i thought about a new hemi, but my budget just doesn't allow for that right now, so cubes has won out; maybe not such a bad thing!

My buddy Dave S bought this Gran Coupe while stationed in the Miami, Fla area in the late 70s.

He eventually sold the GC to a fellow in the Madison, WI area and the last time we met several years ago, he was deep into Harleys.

Although i have no pics of the fender tags (2-tag car), i remeber helping Dave determine that his GC still had the original drivetrain as well as locating a perfect Broadcast Sheet inside the driver side fron bucket seat back . This was an FC7\V1X car on the plate but that houndstooth pattern vinyl top had been on the car since before he first bought it. The seat insert patterns were also as the pics show so far as Dave knew. I also remember that it was properly coded for the A21 Elastomeric Front Bumper, cloth and vinyl 6-way seats, rim blow, power steering, brakes, and windows, luggage rack, 4sp\3.23, and more.

Dave and his GC are the reason i own my R/T SE. They would both have been ordered originally as e-body luxury models wearing Purple/Black Vinyl Top/b&w Cloth Interiors. I thought we'd make a cool entrance wherever we decided to ride.

always    But someone is coming out with repops at a better price soon. I got a used one from stephens performance in alabama . he charged me 125 for 1 corner. and it was used.   I got it tho, mine had a dent

I've never seen a 71 Gran Coupe with the thin chrome trim on the tail panel. The picture on Onefornow's Gran Coupe looks like it has the thin chrome trim.

Is it that 70's had the thin trim only year? Were any 70 Gran Coupes had the thinker type on the trunk edges was what I thought they normally had.

Houndstooth top...that's gotta be a mega rare option.

My 70 gran coupe convertible has the thicker 3 piece set. It is orignal I believe since I've owned it since 1978(I bought it from a police auction for $800,00 )

I dont see any chrome trim on onefornow's friends gc car.  Dont see it on the decklid or quarters. And they were all the same size
