Interior paints

Hey,

I need to get some paint information for interior surfaces.  My Challenger was originally b5 blue with a fully matching color interior.  Since a blue interior would look pretty bad with the new paint as seen on my avatar, I'm going to be painting a bunch of surfaces.

First, I want to restore the steering column.  Although the color won't change (black), I still need the proper supplies.

Next, the dash will be changed from blue to black.  What does this need.

The last thing I can think of is the interior trim around the windows.

I was thinking of having all of these items media blasted to get a good fresh start.  Any thoughts?

Many of us have had success with SEM dye. It can be used on both plastic a vinyl. You just have to buy their prep stuff, to make sure the surface is free of any oil and dirt first. Landau black is what you would be looking for in you go this route.

Sorry, I meant to say the dash frame.  The dash pad is being replaced with a new black one.  Oh, and the window trim will be white.  All items being painted are metal.

The cheap and easy way to go is Krylon Semi-flat black in a rattle can. It's not perfect, but a pretty close match. Dash frame and steering column would both be this color. Media or bead blast are a good plan. Proper Prepwork makes painting a breeze!

I think the dash should have a texture other than just semi-flat black.  I was looking at the column restore document (http://www.sendspace.com/file/lhga5d) on pages 96 and 97, you can see the 'suede' texture of the column parts that is a factory look.  Now my black column didn't have this texture but the dash frame does.

I'm intending on going through the whole column like the document and If I'm going to all the trouble, I'd like to know where I can find the proper paints.

SEM trim black works real good for the column and the dash frame.
