Need Front Seat Reinforcing Bracket Info
« on: December 14, 2008 - 09:55:59 AM »
I'm installing a 4-speed hump this weekend.  My 71 Cuda has replacement floor pans.  The outer most bucket seat mounting locations have reinforcing/load distributing brackets welded to the underside of the floor.  The ones in the middle of the car do not.  Should something be there and the restorers missed it?

Are they the same bracket as the outer-most locations have?

here's a pic....hope this helps...
IMO the replacement floor pan seat reinforcements are a little different than the stock ones (my car doesn't have holes in the square reinforcements, the aftermarket floors in the pictured car does) but the material is heavier gauge.

70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Thanks, that pic is exactly what I needed!  Now I need to find those inner reinforcing plates somewhere.

Thank you for the offer, but I bought some from Rumblefish.  If anything goes wrong I'll be calling you up though!
