Would that be EF6 since it is a '69 color?

Fender tag on the 69 R/T said F6, I've also seen 999 for that paint code (special order), But i do believe you are corect, EF6 would be the color designation, E being 1969 color.

Technically, yes.

But, they did not code the series (E) for 1969 fender tag or broadcast sheet codes. So, it was (is) commonly known as F6.

You sure it's not FJ6? No Challenger would be coded F6. It would have been a 999 code if painted the '69 color.

Hey Ken, that car was not original paint.  It has been personalized, or custom painted.  I remembered i had it in my records.  And i doubt it was coded with 999, could have been coded for any color.  Not sure of the tag details. :2thumbs:

Code 999 paint could mean anything right? It could be any number of different colors as far as I understand it. It only meant that the color on the car is not what was offered on the option list for the given year right?
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off

That is exactly right, any given color for 999, some years varied to what was available.

An additional note is that Petty Blue Superbirds were still coded 999 even though that was a standard available color for them.

Actually that Challenger was not painted in F6. That was a flat green with no mettalic and darker than F6. The car in the photo was an original A66 340 car painted in the rare for 70 FJ6 paint code. That photo was probably when the car had just been painted by it's then current owner and on display in Calgary Alberta at race City Speedway at a Northern Mopars show.  I travelled with my boss to Moose Jaw to look at and purchase the car a few years later from the next owner. After we got the car it was stripped and painted it's original FJ6 hue and then re-sold as the car was being finished. I later installed a 472 crate Hemi for the next owner and he has subsequently sold the car. Last I know it was in Medicine Hat. The car was a little twisted from what I remember as the windshield did not fit the opening very well and the car sat a little funny and the front spring hanger shimmed on one side so the thrust alignment was not out.
