Take it mate. Store it if needs be. Worst case scenario you don't get around to restoring it or don't have the funds you can sell it for a little pocket money later on. It gives the car another few chances in life. :2cents:

Exactly. Worst comes to worst, I could always sell it. What will probally happen though is I'll just store it away until I get my main project (the Charger) done.

Zach, unfortentley I can't get it for 10 months due to my driver's licence issues.

It's kinda cool, this car is on my Forgotten Mopars website. So I can basically say I'm rescuing a car off my website. :2thumbs:

Well, I do have a licence. It's a learners. I can't drive anywhere unless I have an instructor in the car and I can only drive between 5am-12midnight. In 10 months, I get my full licence..therefore, being able to go get the car. :)

69bronze, before you make a decision, do this. On Excel, start making a list of every piece you will need to get the car on the road or restored to whatever level you desire.  Don't neglect anything; tires, wiring harnesses, shocks, battery, paint materials, trunk gasket, recored radiator, seat material, instrument repairs, rechroming, the whole thing-you get the picture. Use realistic prices. Two things will soon become apparent to you; First, the longer you spend on the list, the more things will come to mind. Second, you will soon realize you will be upside down on this car and have 15k of expenses plus a ton of time on a car that will be worth half that at best in today's market.  It costs just as much to restore that Coronet as it would a Six-pack superbee. When a car is as far gone as that one is, it needs to have a high ceiling ( potential maximum) value when completed to make it worthwhile doing. Unless you are just passionate about Coronets.

Well yeah, when it comes to me and I cars, it's all about the passion for me. I have a XP '69 Charger that I've been restoring..not too diserable on the Charger level but it is what it is. With the Coronet, they on in my top 5 list of Mopars I love. :2thumbs:

I do the Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for the 'cuda as well. I have a couple of different ones; one for the engine, the body, interior...
This really helps itemize things and can point you in the right direction on where to attack first. You can arrange items in order of importance, color code tem, items bought and yet to buy, and most of all you can tally up how muc you've spent and need to spend.
Also, my wife thinks I really know what I'm doing and is more lenient about spending on it this way. ;)

He bought it to make sure it wouldn't be bought by anyone else. I bought it off of him :). Yes I will be...but I'm not sure when yet. To be completely honest, I want to see how my musician thing works out. My band is currently working on our demo CD.

Yikes bud - as someone who spent a great many years in the entertainment business, lemme tell ya - IF (and you and I both know how big that "if" is) your band becomes successful, you will have VERY little time in your life for things like restoring old cars.

I'd take that same Excel sheet, see what everything adds up to, then pop onto ebay and see how cheap I could get a COMPLETE, turn-key Coronet for...  I'll bet you could buy one, ready-to-run for cheaper than restoring that thing.

Sometimes, a car is just too-far gone.  It's hard for us to accept that, but you gotta take a realistic approach.

Whatever you decide, I hope it works out for you.
