Chrysler Shutting down for 30 days

Just saw on the news Chrysler is idling all its plants for at least 30 days. Looks like the start of the end?
Edit: Something they failed to mention in the first news report was that Chrysler always shuts down from Dec 24 through Jan 5, so it is actually about a 15 day idle.

Of course, the Union workers still get paid. Gotta love the UAW.

Well, it looks like the rest of the Big 3 have joined the shut down party.

"Ford has said it has enough capital to survive 2009."
I'll never buy a Ford after seeing the CEO beg congress for money with GM and Chrysler, when in reality they don't need it. The Tennessee senator called him on it in the second round of talks.

Seems we have gone back about 30 years on this. I remember when it was going on then as well. I hope it all works out. Still want to order a new 09 challenger. I hope that I can still do that. Gordon

I think they need to build what the people want and not just do forcasts on what might sell. Think they would do much better that way and build a quality car as well.

Our newest car is my wifes 03 PT. I don't see any problems with the quality with it, We now have 30k miles on it now and it has never had one warrenty job done to it. My truck is 10 years old and it does not even have a rattle or squeek either. I think the products that is being brought to the market are as good as anything else.

I just hope we got the parts for my truck ordered soon enough.
But then someone has to be there to ship them also.
