Why I Hate SPEED TV
« on: December 18, 2008 - 01:37:17 PM »
Sorry for the negativity but I am working from home on some mindless account management work and figured I would have the TV on while I get through this. A bunch of NASCAR drivers in a Golf long distance driving contest... This is what SPEED feels they need to broadcast along with the 10,000 re-runs of PINKS. There are no other driving competitions worth showing? Nothing? Maybe some Bull Run reruns. Considering they are starting a new season in February. Maybe a few Rallies or a race from Australia? Unreal....

Nascar,Nascar,Nascar-gets ratings I guess but for me it gets old quick-Nascar morning show,pre-pre race, pre race,2 hr race with 2 hrs of commercials and commercial every time an annoucer opens there mouth, post race and then Speed report is 90% Nascar coverage.I agree this is a lot more racing out there other than Nascar but I gues they don`t get the same ratings.

I CAN'T STAND NASCAR. Vintage Nascar-  :grinyes:. Current Nascar... :grinno:

I only watch Speed for two shows....Wrecked and the new season of Bullrun thats coming out. Used to watch Pinks and Pinks All-Out but they ALWAYS put re-runs on...over and over and over and over. :blah:

Bullrun - is that the show that Spike had aired a few years ago?  I actually really got into that show - I kept thinking that I could have done MUCH better in my run-of-the-mill V6 Stratus with my wife navigating then any of those yahoos....  I had really thought about entering in, but honestly have NO idea how to even sign up for something like that...

Now it looks like I missed my chance.  Poop.

Albert Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

Turn the boob-tube off if there isn't anything on, listen to some music or just let your brain wander, using those cells in your head is alot more important than using the cell phones or the remote control in your hand,

Yeah but the Charger guys were SUUUUCH douchebags...  They acted like jerks and then reaped what they had sewn.  They also knew nothing about the car they were driving.  The Olds guys gambled and it paid off.  I didn't approve of everything they did, but I wasn't rooting for the Charger guys at all.  Of course, then the firebird douche and his dumba$$ daughter ended up winning.  I couldn't STAND that girl - she was such a whiney brat.

My wife and I would have cleaned their clocks.  :)  She's an expert navigator, and I know my own car inside and out.  Plus, we work really well together.

Bullrun pretty much wanted them to run by scripts...It's all that "reality" crap that's plastered everywhere...::)  As for Nascar, it does get old very quick, but I love Speed's late-night programming (Chop, Cut, Rebuild and that stuff, especially the NOPI pageant girl specials )

One of my personal favorites on Speed is MOTOCROSS!!!!!!!!  The new season starts January 3rd!!!!  :woohoo:  Another good show is Gearz with Stacy David (former host of "Trucks"), although it is hit and miss with when they show that show.
