Just bought a Garmin Nuvi 260 for $200 Cdn at Walmart.  I think they are about $155 US.  It's a good little unit for the money.  My only complaint so far is that the voice directions come too late sometimes.  The onscreen map always tells you well in advance when your next turn is.  I think the more expensive Garmin units actually show you what lane to be in which would be more useful but I'm happy with mine so far.  We'll see how it works in Phoenix in a couple of weeks.

I second the Garmin recommendation.

I think they all have come a long ways. You can't go wrong.   :grinno:

I found a Garmin Nuvi 760 on a pre-Christmas sale for $250(!). It's the first automotive GPS that I've ever owned and so far it has worked perfectly. I think I'd have been just as well off with the 250 but they weren't much cheaper ($199) and have a lot fewer features. I haven't tried the traffic alert service and I probably never will. I read a lot of reviews before buying and all of the Garmin units fared well.

Have a Garmin 760 ( i think) at work. It is a lifesaver as I am a fire investigator and goto eveyfire in the city and it tells me how and when and....I love it. It works on the FM radio and has the bluetooth ph :dogpile:one hook up as well for hands free cell.
