Thanks for the warnings viper and daytona, I've owned some nasty hemis and stroker motors in the past, i think i can handle this one. Drove one of these trucks a few years ago, so i do have some experience with em.

Lol - well then maybe you can teach me some pointers!  I'm havin' a hard time keepin' those four tires firmly planted on the ground!

There is a little diff between what you have and what i have...like 2000+ lbs ! A friend of mine had a GTS ACR Viper, he told me that of all the cars he owned, and he's had some pretty stout rides, that the ACR Viper was the only car he was afraid of....LOL. He said if it rained, it was impossible to keep the back end under it.

Another friend of mine who's had several vipers said the best thing you can do after buying one is go to a driving school and learn how to drive the car. He totaled his first one before he learned that lesson!

I REALLY want to go to the Skip Barber school, but it is soooo expensive (doesn't cater to the "holy crap look at the deal on got on this Viper" crowd...)

Maybe some day...  hopefully beFORE I wreck mine.  :)

Next time i see this guy who went to the school I'll ask him where he went and how much it cost. I hear you about the $$ deal...that's why i got the truck, less $$ and more of a poor man's Viper, if there is such a thing.

Larry, check your vehicles option list for: XPY - SRT Track Experience and run your VIN past your local dealer. Your truck may have a free "ticket" to an "SRT Track Experience" course. ALL SRT vehicles built after April, 2005 were eligible. If it was built prior it sets people back $500 so it's worth going. Mine had the track experience but being in NZ I couldn't use it so I signed a form and emailed it to a mate on the VTCOA so he could use my track time. Anyhow, check it out, http://drivesrt.com/en/index.html

I drove a friends SS454 back in the day....to be honest not even CLOSE to this truck. I'd say a 454SS compared to a SRT-10 would be like comparing a 318 to a 440 powered car. I think those SS454's were like 240-250 HP, this truck is 500HP, 525 lbs/ft. The chevy's were all automatics, this is a 6 speed. A 360 powered little red express would clean a SS454's clock.

Dutch, you gotta get a ride in one of these trucks....if you thought one of those trucks were impressive, you'll get your socks knocked off by one of these SRT's !

:iagree:  ss454=slow. 5.2L dakotas were quicker back in the day.
