any e bod daily drivers out there?
« on: December 22, 2008 - 08:58:39 PM »
I was just wondering...
My Challenger is my only car and by default my daily driver... cant complain though.
I figure i could by some little eco honda to use for work and such but i would rather drive the challenger so it dosnt do me any good to have two cars.

Bought my Barracuda when I was 17 (2004), daily drove it for two years before retiring it from it's daily duties. Fuel got way too high for that thing.

My T/A was my daily driver for 5 years, rain, snow or shine. No garage either. Thankfully they do not salt the roads here. :-)

I put 23,000 miles on it from ages 19 - 23. (my age at the time, not the car)

Mine is my daily driver. Although at the moment it si parked due to a bad transmission but I should have it back on the road in less than 2 weeks. gas is cheaper than a car payment when you have a 3 mile commute.

I drive my barracuda when I am home and around town. I don't go to different states in it yet. I went cruising today.   :2thumbs:

My 70 was my daily driver until I got sick then it got parked and I havent' been able to drive it since! Now unfortunately because it has sat so long it needs a TOTAL resto! So I am not too sure when it is going to get back on the road! BUT when the newly acquired 71 gets done even tho it has a stroker in it, it is going to be a daily driver!!!     The shop built the stroker with that in mind!! so I can run pump gas in it!!

I get to drive mine often after I get it done.  Would like to think I will drive it daily.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I use mine as my daily driver.  In fact, I look for excuses to drive it whenever i can, such as driving my roommates around on errands.  Its had a decent chunk of miles put on it in the three months I've had it.  In addition to daily use its been driven across the country as well as up and down the California coast every time I go home from school on a holiday.

:iagree: I still remember taking 30 minutes to get out of my Father in laws long driveway one time when it snowed with my old '70 440 car. He laughed his a** off at me and said "All that power doesn't do you any good in the snow, does it?" RIP Poppa.  :'(

I have a 99 Firebird formula, but I pretty much drive my Chally everyday.  Now that the windshield wipers work, I even tempt fate and drive when there is a 40% chance of rain.

Weekly Driver (1-3 times a week) in 1 hour+ blasts. No 5-10 minute trips to get milk.
These cars love to be run, not warm up, stretch, then return to the changing rooms.

Not my Cuda cuz its too nice IMO to drive daily. That's exactly why I bought the Charger so I could drive something cool on a daily basis. However, the new Demon carb I installed on it doesn't have a choke so the colder it is, the harder it is to get started and warmed up. It's stayed home for several days now with morning temps in the teens. I'll take it if the morning temp is in the high 30's and if I'm not running late. Thankfully I only live two miles from work so gas isn't a big hardship. I take my beater 89 Buick Park Avenue when I'm not driving the Charger. I tell ya, it's not pretty to look at but that car has been great to me. That 3.8 GM motor is great. It has nearly 200,000 miles on it and runs like a top.

From 94-96 my Challenger was my only car so it was my daily driver. It had a 383 in it back then and was a blast to drive. I ended up parking it in the back yard and it sat there for 8+ years. I think I started messing with it in 2004 or 2005. It will be about a year before I have it back on the road and it probably will not be a daily driver but will still get plenty of run time.

I drove mine almost daily for the first six months I had it. This past year I doubt I've put more then 2k on it. I came to realize its too dangerous to drive it here in a pretty big city daily. I drove it to work today and almost got ran off the road twice!
