    proportioning valve?

    hey guys i got a quick question,
    would my 73 barracuda have an adjustable proportioning valve?
    my rear drums are locking up too easily under braking

    Could be the ajusters are too tight on the rear  :dunno:

    A leaky wheel cylinder maybe  :clueless:

    Did it just start doing that?

    They all do that stock.  2 different fixes 1) put an adjustable valve in the rear line or 2) replace the rear wheel cylinders with ones that have smaller diameter pistons (mid '70's half ton truck).  Sometimes need both.

    it's done it to some degree the whole time i've had the car, but more apparent since i just did some brake work (new hoses, lines, master cyl etc.   the old master cylinder was faulty, not generating pressure to the rear circuit).
    how do you adjust out the drums? could this solve the problem of the drums grabbing too hard? at least untill i can get a proportioning valve into the rear line

    adusting the brakes shoes makes no difference other than the pedal goes lower before the brakes work , you need to install a different / adjustable valve

    ok, i've ordered a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve from a brake shop.
