1970 Challenger daily driver. sold sold sold
« on: December 23, 2008 - 03:00:57 PM »
This car is taged and inspected and is my daily driver. It has the original 90764 miles on it. The motor was replaced with a reman motor from pepboys.(RECON)..I still have the original motor out of the car to keep it a numbers matching car.Still has the fender tag and jack..It has a aluminum Super 6 intake and 2 barrel carb,Hooker super comp headers,New summit 2 1/2 dual exhaust system with summit turbo mufflers,Wheels are 14x5 wrapped in new rubber and the rearend 7 1/4 "open" The car runs and drives good, doesnt run hot..Car has a CLEAR TEXAS TITLE. never been wrecked..car does have power steering..If you are looking for a good canidate for that R/T 426 HEMI clone, then this car is for you.
This car is 97% rust free: NO RUST in the lower quarters or floors or fenders or hood or doors or frame rails or fire wall area or inner fenders or trunk lid or trunk lip or trunk gutters.."The places were there is rust": Deck filler panel under the back glass and small holes in the trunk floor.some small spots on the roof under the vinyl top.
.you can get a new filler panel and trunk floor from paddock or you can do what I did and just drive the car. Thats what it was made to do..This car is by no means a show car it is a daily driver that still brings a crowd at car shows and at cruise nights just because what it is."A Challenger with a 6".
Things that would need to be fixed/replaced if you want to make it a show car: Dash is cracked, seats need to be recovered, rust under the vinyl top at the bottom of the back glass, small rust holes in the trunk, small dings, small dents, arm rests are cracked, pass side front lense, front valance is dented, turn signal cam, repaint the car.
Repairs/general maintenance done to the car::New 225 slant 6,New Battery,New carb,Too much to list under the hood that is new. New tires 215-75-14,New carpet from paddock,New package tray from paddock,New electric fan. seat covers from pep-boys,dash cover from auto zone,Vinyl top and headliner was replaced by previous owner. The paint on the car is original and has been buffed out alot times. It is thin on the hood and deck lid and tops of doors. The back filler panel was patched with fiberglass..It needs a new header gasket. The original motor was running when pulled it just didnt have any power. It is disassembled.
The story on the car. it was a special order with a 6. Sold at Reseda Dodge in California in late 69 early 70.Then It was sold again and it went to northern california, were it was parked from april of 2000 till june 24 2006 when I got the car and took it to reno nv and now east texas.I have a copy of the window sticker and original california blue/yellow plates and dealer tag over the plate "reseda dodge" original gas cap, reprint operators manual and paperwork for the new motor.
here is the fender tag info
Fender Tag reads as E24-225 1 barrel 6 cyl, D31-Light duty 904 trans, JH23-Dodge Challenger,high,2 dr hardtop, C0E-225,1970,los angeles ca, 107057-sequence number "107057". Hey Adam,

I saw your car recently on eBay.  Honestly, in a good economy, you could likely get $14k for it all day long.  This economy appears to be another story.  If I were you, I would keep it and continue to "daily drive" it.

Thanks
With the economy in the tank its hurting all car sales old and new..I gave ebay a try and got ALOT of emails and alot of people wanting to trade. but with the economy like it is I will just keep driving it. It gets almost 20 mpg..I would like to get a new project but I can wait..
