    Tubular Control Arm questions

    1 - I've asked this before, but for the arms with rod ends, are there special bolts/fasteners needed to mount these. Neil has said no, but as I look at these the stock bolts seem made for arms with bushings. I may be wrong, but it doesn't look as if the bolt is threaded far enough up the shank to allow the nut to be tightened on it. In other words, the rod ends are thinner than bushings, and I don't think the bolts can be tightened enough to grip the rod ends. Am I wrong?

    2 - Reference the pic below, if I'm looking in the wheel well and I see this, am I looking at the right side or the left?

    Are you talking about the heim joint ends that have the cam bolt going through them? If so, just the heim joints go on the cam bolt. No spacer or bushing.

    OK, but if the cam bolt can't be tightened won't the upper control arms just be flopping around?

    My set has 2 washer type spacers on each end of the heim to stop front to back motion that the cam bolt runs through.

    Is that what you are looking at?

    Yeah, I think that's exactly what I was asking about.

    Can anybody clue me in on which one going on which side now?  :droolingbounce:

    wide long spacer in front of heim short one in the back of the heim on all 4 joints also start with one turn out from the tube on the heim joint.

    Thats on my car with an alterktion front end. I hope it helps.

    Sorry about my earlier post. I looked at the instructions for my Alter-k and saw that it does use spacers like thedodgeboys said. Sorry for any confusion but it was a couple years ago that I set it up and was thinking there wasn't anything.

    Did your UCA's not come with any spacers?

    Not a problem. Ultimately, I got my answers, or at least the start of them, so it's all good.

    They did not. I'm going to get in touch with the mfr and seeif they offer spacer sets, annd if not maybe trading for a set of UCAs that use bushings instead.

    Left side. The forward most mount is higher than the rear mount.
