Thanks for the update Dan :2thumbs:   I brought the post back up on moparts a little bit ago asking him to check in and give a progress report.  I know the pain when your child not only leaves home, but the whole state to start out fresh. It hurts the heart with sorrow and joy at the same time.

Maybe he will chime in here soon as well

So far uneventful trip, though me and his mom miss him alot already,  hasn't quite sunk in  that our little bird has flown the coup.:

So what you are trying to say is you haven't dropped to your knees and in your best Braveheart voice scream at the top of your lungs "FREEEEEDOM" yet?  :smilielol:

In Decatur, TX everyone! So far so good, we'll hit Albuquerque tomorrow. About a nine hour pull.

The 'ol Ranger is a bit more loaded than I thought. We got curious at a gas station with a CAT scale. It weighs in at 7,500lbs with the two of us in it. It's taking it pretty decently, running about 13-14mpg.

But thats what we are here for to get our kids to stand up on their 2 feet, have a better life then we had and hope it all works out. He has a great head on his shoulders, is so grown up now, and will do fine.  One of things that really tugged at my heart strings, I am a big fan of the red white and blue. I also tried to get the message to my both of my sons, how important that flag is. Mike (Goody) took a small American Flag and tie wrapped to his antenna for the journey.  It was a proud moment for me. enough of me :blah: :blah: :blah:

thanks

Be safe Mike!  I remember pulling my 'Cuda home in my expedition.....after 10 hours of being on the road, I looked down and realized I was doing 85!!!  Sometimes the road does that to you.

Keep us posted on your progress please....and PM me your new address when you get a chance....

Keep that flag a wavin'  :wavingflag:

I guess you did not have time to swing by the shop yesterday afterall.  Left a voicemail for you after Church.  Glad to see you are making good progress.  Drive Safe.  Hope to catch you on your next swing past...

Sorry Gary, we lost service for awhile and we weren't sure if you were going to be at the shop. Didn't get your message until we were already on our way out of Dallas.

Anyway, we're in Albuquerque now. The mountain up was beating up my truck pretty good...have to be a good excuse to pickup a new one once I can swing it.

No problem.  Glad to hear you're doing okay.  I understand about cell phone service, I've made the drive from FLA to TX myself a few times.
