here are a few pics of the car,fender tag and build sheet.i didn't get over to the shop yet to get pics of the engine comp.but will this monday.the vin # is js23n1b274546...the hemi that is in this has been since it arrived at the dealership,[or shortly after].this car has been reputed to have been ordered as a hemi with factory air.chrysler
would not build it that way [no factory ac on hemi or any multi-carb engine],but would allow the dealer to install the hemi.this work was done at Crocker's Dixieland Dodge,in Laurel,Mississippi where the car was owned by the dealer,Mr.
Bill Crocker,untill december of 1988.i have owned the car since 1998.when appraised at this time it was considered to be in 95% of it's showroom condition.i didn' have the car long before i decided to dismantle it and preserve it.....
beautiful car,and wanted it to keep it that way.i did all the work at my shop on weekends and any free time i had in between.i freshened-up the HEMI,as well as the trans at the same time....this is what i do anyway!i found a group
of photos on disk yesterday that i took when i did this work and will post them for anyone that would like to see them.
i also have pics of car at autorama in 2000,01,02,and 03 if any one would like to see them.anyone wanting to view this car in person is welcome, and has my personal invite.i've enjoyed having this car and it draws a crowd every time
i take somewhere,which i very seldom do now!.....this is also me 2nd mopar my first was a 70 cuda 440-6 with a shacker hood and 4-speed. it was the same color as the challenger,bought it in 1976 and was 2nd owner.great car!!!

The B-body bench is doubly intriguing now. Your tag has you with vinyl buckets. Maybe the bench went in with the Hemi?

The plot thickens..........

I have had a guy telling me the same story as your car. A man in El Paso wanted an air conditioner with his hemi road runner or GTX (dont remember which) Chrysler would not build it so he had the dealership get a crate hemi and put it in before he took delivery. Beautiful Challenger to say the least. Any shots of the engine bay?
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off
