bugatti Veyron with double the HP for a mere .4 .....  I thought there had to be a certain number made to count though... how many veyrons are around....

To your point-how many "real" super stock hemi darts are around? They are probably worth a million dollars now as well!

Even though the newer cars kill any old musclecar when there is the slightest turning of the sterring wheel involved it is still amazing what kind of records these old cars can still hold. Reminders of a time before safety regulations, modern conveniences, and lawyers suing the pants off everyone.

About 70 of each were made.  Not sure how many are still around.

Im pretty sure the number was 86 of each for the 68's... how many left 

doesnt matter the value now.... thats a record from 1968 .... ive seen one on barret jackson go for $270,000....
to me thats impressive record still held in the u.s.

well if your talking todays technology and cars then you have to talk about XV motorsports and such making old muscle ride better ...

Actually the list is wrong for listing any Hemi A-body. They never rolled off Chryslers assembly lines as Hemi cars. Hurts did the drivetrain swap.

That's pretty sweet. I wish I could copy it. Hey, the high dollar Veyron is pretty impressive though. Did anyone see when they test drove it on Top Gear on BBC? Bugatti claimed a top speed of 253 mph and that's just what they got it too on the VW or BMW (can't remember which) test track in Germany. That car was moving.

I think a fair amount of the factory super stockers are still around, most of them happen to be a the track still. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't NHRA have a class for only the factory super stockers, or do they allow "clones" (for lack of a better term) to run  as well. Also the MSRP on the Veyron is 1.7 million, but at that point does it really matter. There is a dealership in town (Silicon Valley Auto Group) that has 2 of them in stock and I have to say if I had stupid money I would buy one, that is one heck of a car.

You could use that same logic to knock a bunch of cars off that list including the shelby cars.
