IMNCARN82 - Looks like the concensus at my house is she's going to be Yellow and Black.  I actually just won an auction on e-bay for some "Competition Yellow" which looks a lot like FY1 and I figure if I get it and it looks a little bland maybe I'll spruce it up with a little metallic.  I may also paint the hood and roof black.  Not sure.  Maybe just do all yellow with stripes.  We'll see. Luckily, I have ZERO metal work I need to do.  I've already beat out the one dent it had in the door.  Gonna try and paint it over the New Years Holiday weekend- I can't stand driving around an ugly car.  Been watching weather.com and it looks like the weather may cooperate with me.  Keep your fingers crossed...

Yellow is always a good choice.  Not my favorite,But that's just me.   Ours will be plum crazy with a black hood/fender tops up around the windows thing. Kinduv like the AAR.Go wing,Stripe. The weather here is awsome. 65 tomarow!! That's cool you didn't have much body work. This thing had alot of small stuff.  I'm just gonna' tune her up a bit and wait for the 360. Can't complain with the gas mileage though.  Keep the pics coming!!   :2thumbs:  Robert.

By the way welcome to the Abody owners club!!!!!!!!!

Rare_T_A   Thanks.  Glad to be back in a A-Body.  I've owned about 7 or 8 Dusters/Demons/Dart Sports to date.  I am glad I found one with so little rust.  The budget is really tight right now so I am going to stick with the /6 and manual drums brakes for quite a while.  I just won an auction for a set of Legendary rear seat covers (wrong year but I don't care) so that will take care of my hideous back seat.  Next, thing I need to look for is either another bench seat or a set of cheap buckets...

MoparAl - Not yet.  Yesterday was my son's 11th B-Day so I spent the day with him and the rest of the family + 6 or 7 other kids.  Never made it to the junk yard to see if there were any decent buckets in anything out there.  Probably going to hav eto wait a week or two before the cash builds back up to buy anything else - kids birthdays get expensive :swaying: :jumping:

Overall, I am very pleased with the results.  I've got a couple of runs in the yellow that I will need to buff out but otherwise it looks really good.  I added a little ultra fine silver metallic flake to the black to give is a little flavor.  The flakes actually make the black look like it's still wet in the sun

:wow:  That looks great.  Of course, now that green interior really has to go.  :eek4:

I swear, man, I'm going to drag my car 1500 miles out there to DFW and let you do the work.

Thanks.   I agree - the green interior has GOT TO GO!!! I've actually already gotten a black Legendary back seat cover that I won on ebay.  Cost me $85.00 including shipping :woohoo:  It's not the right year but it's not like I am restoring a 340 car.  I plan on doing the interior in the next few weeks (as funds allow).  If someone would buy my 72 RR Clone, I'd be able to finish this up quickly  :lol2:

Next thing that will need to be done is the hubcaps have got to go as well.  I am leaning towards old school slotted mags since waht I really want (17's) will be out of the budget.

What do you guys think?  Shoud I put on the mid-body stripes like it originally had or the upper body ones with a custom callout?

Gary, that car looks great!. We had one (green) many years ago, and it was so rotted there was no saving it. Yours looks so solid! Great find!
