Okay, did a little work on it today. Some of it worked out good, some not so good.  The good - put a set of stripes in it   :woo:  The not so good - when I was wet sanding and buffing out a few runs, I burned through som eof the paint in one of the fenders.  Guess I will have to re-spray it one of these days.  For now, it is still just a beater, so I will live with it.

Oh yeah, I also tripped and fell when I was at my shop and think I fractured my f'n wrist.  In the process, I taught my boys a few words they've never heard me say   :swear:  :swear:  (although they did say "Mommy says the all of the time").

Ken - yeah, the stripes really amde a HUGE difference.  Amazing how something so small can make such a big change in the whole look of a car.  Imagine what a set of coll wheels & tires would do for it!

Funny you should say that.  I've actually got a few people at my day job that want me to do their cars/trucks now.  Maybe this will help me with my Dave Ramsey Debt Snowball...

The car is looking great.  It's more than beater I would say. A 71 Duster was my first Mopar; /6 and all.  It even had the same hubcaps.  Wish I still had it now.

Update - I scored a PERFECT front bench seat for the Beater this weekend on Craigslist!!  I will need to dye it black (it's tan) which I plan on doing either this weekend or next.  I even have the matching back seat cover from Legendary that I got on eBay a couple of weeks ago.  I probably do the entire interior at the same time.

Okay, it' sbeen a month and I still have not dyed the front seat but I did install the new carpeting and painted the dash and upper door panel semi-gloss black.  I also found out that the back seat cover I bought on ebay was the entirely wrong one - WAY too small.  Hopefully, I will be getting the back seat re-covered this week and will dye the front seat as well.  Kind of hard to dye a seat that you have to use to get home.  I guess Ill have my wife pick me up at the shop the day I do it.

Also, I am goint to re-spray the car once I get the room in the shop.  I am not 100% satisfied with it and really want it to look primo before I list it for sael.  That's right, I am going to sell this one too.  I've decided that being debt free is the most important thing to me now.  To that end, a guy who has a shop arouund th ecorner from me has offered to rebuild the tranny in my Ram Charger inexchange for some body and paint work on his Rat Rod.  The only snag right now is I need to get the 72 RR clone I sold out of the shop before I take on any more work.

Okay - time for another update.  Since my  last posting we had a major hail storm here.  It beat up the Beater pretty good especially on the hood.  So I decided that since I really wasn't thrilled with the shade of yellow it was I'd repaint it a more Mopar Yellow.  Now it is more like the car I had in my head to begin with.
