k member slightly damaged :( what now?
« on: December 31, 2008 - 02:49:32 AM »
When I bought my challenger it was a salvage title car ( well it still is ) I was under the car today  and I noticed where the damage took place, it was the k frame ( is that the correct term?) I noticed they repaired it but it still shows a bit of damage. I would post pics but I post from my iPhone. How bad is this and what's the best way to fix? I just dropped a motor in along with the  tranny and the car runs now. I wish I would have caught this earlier :( before the motor drop :(
Thanks for the help

I will agree to a point it could cause the front end to be out of alignment also.  Are you going to show the car or drive it?  anyway post some pictures and we can tell more!!!!!!
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I'd like to post pics but can't on the iPhone.  :dupe: at this point I don't have a choice but to stick with what I have and hope I have no alignment problems.

There is a K frame for a v-8 on FEBO for sale from Bronxmopar for 150.   I think he would probably take less and he is located in NY.

This is the link that I posted here for the guy.  He is a FABO member as well as FEBO.

My Barracuda had a damaged k-frame. I bought a powdercoated unit.  My bodyshop supported the engine , dropped out the damaged unit , and installed the replacement unit, no problem.
