I used a wooden shaft about the same size worked just great :)
How did you fastend them? Did you glue the bezel the old "steel brackets"?

I used weatherstrip adhesive to attach them to the steel backer plate. Be very careful with this adhesive, it can remove the finish on the woodgrain - so dont use to much and have it ooze out.

Hi guys, thought I'd reply to this thread.  Just recieved my new bezel from year one, not happy with the colour of the rings around the gauges.  Take a look and let me know what you think...

Incorrect...The rings are not black, they are brown, just not that shade of brown. That is most likely a PG Classic piece sold through YearOne.

The most accurate ones are available from PERFORMANCE CAR GRAPHICS :2thumbs:

 :iagree:  x2
Dark brown. Those rings are not the accurate color. Yes, Dave at PCS is the guy. He matches the walnut grain from the switch panel across the gauge cluster panel and is a dead on match for accurate colors. They come with the metal backing plates attached on each and pre-bent corners. Do yourself a favor, return that and order both panels from Dave.  :2thumbs:

This is what my 45 year old original one looks like. Replace with with rt-eng ones.

You can see the difference in the black along the edge, and the dark brown rings in JayBee's picture :2thumbs:

Mission accomplished!

Hey John,
Your original panel is older than I am!  :poopoke:  What's your excuse?  :roflsmiley:

Got this stuff a few years ago, and it's a great match for the brown bezel rings on the rally dash.  Krylon 4292 Brown
