Pretty cheap steel roller rockers, anyone tried these?
« on: January 02, 2009 - 04:57:29 AM »
Seems like these are some new low cost china brand rockers, atleast I haven't seen these before. Here's a link to ebag auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__MOPAR-383-400-440-Stainless-1-6-Roller-Rockers-Shafts_W0QQitemZ380093667734

At 279$ they seem to be fairly cheap but still expensive enough to convince me that these cannot be total bs. Anyone seen  or used these before? I'm in need of rockers so I could test these out.

Because of their shipping policies I could use some help. I would like to have someone in US to buy and ship these to Finland. I can handle the payment via paypal or credit card and also in advance of course.

The holddowns look real cheap but they look like comp copies to me... email the guy and ask thim how much spring pressures they will hold up to... what type of application are you going to use them for...  :working:

It says they ship internationally...

I will send them an email. The application will be pretty mild 383 with less than 0.500 lift on the cam.

Yes, they will ship internationally but they use UPS on orders over 250$ and with UPS the shipping would be somwhere around 150$ to finland when opposed to 35$ or so with USPS.

Muuten ihan toimivaa kamaa.

Eng: Looks alot like cat roller rockers. I have heard few problems with adjusting screws but otherwise they seem to work pretty well.

Isn't finnish a great language!

I could test one set of those. Can't be much worse than original stamped rockers. Anyone willing to resell one set of  those to me as used and ship them to Finland with appropriate price tag?  :bigshades:

I will also throw in some money for gas and burden in general.

According to Ck the problem with the CAT rockers seems to be the bolts which seem to be heat treated too much, causing them to snap while tightening in some cases.

It looks like the adjusters are not the std ball type. I also think they look rather skinny. I don't trust much in terms of Chinese metalurgy either. If you need rockers, I'd just go sintered iron.
