chrysler newport for engine swap
« on: January 02, 2009 - 09:24:25 PM »
Came across a 73 newport that has a 400 engine. My question is what out of the newport will work for my 318 to 440 engine swap on my 70 challenger.

Just want to make sure I understand your question, are you asking what parts from the 400 will work on the 440?? :dunno:

Are you saying put in the 400 and not a 440?  If so that will work. Up grade to a 400 and not the 440?  Trying to understand.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Dist & intake from the 400 won't work on the 440.

Sorry if I didn't state my intentions correctly. I have a 440 I am going to put in my challenger. I came across the newport which has a bb in it and I want to see what parts from the newport I could use for the big block mods such as radiator, etc. that I would need or might be compatable for the conversion.
