Can you guess about when this car was made?

It's my old 74 challenger.  I heard it wasn't a big production yr.   Where does this vin fit as far as last known cars?

11354 were made and they start at 100k so 6444 and thats were my knowledge stops.

That one is fairly early. The highest VIN I have seen for a 1974 Challenger so far ends in 397584, but I do not have the SPD for it. Likely sometime in April of 1974.

they didnt have sequencial vins, its just the 6444 car built in that plant in 1974

Barry, don't you think that VIN would probably fall more August/September of 73?   That is a very low VIN.

From the Challenger Registry a '74 car is VIN # ends 1156xx and his build date is 1973 - NOV - 24 so yours might be a Sept/Oct '73 built car?

My 74 Barracuda sequence # is 1359xx and it's scheduled build date (per the fender tag) was Sept 21.

Nope. 6444th vehicle allocated a VIN number that model year. Not the same thing as they did not come down the line in that order and they tended to build them in groups of similar cars.

Well I looked at the door tag today. It says  8-73

Model year. Which in this case started in July 1973.

   I know you know your stuff Roppa  but I thought for Challengers the model year started in August of the previous year?  I thought B-bodies were July?

Pretty sure there is a few at least turned out in July. Hopefully someone here can confirm or not.
