What about the poor MoPars in the original Gone in 60 Seconds, they crushed a red 72-74 Challenger and throughout the movie cars in the background of the long chase scene are MoPars being hit be rubbish trucks etc, from memory.
If I remember correctly, they were actually '70 or '71 Challengers with '72 front and tail ends grafted on. Reason being is a long time ago I freeze framed the VIN #s of the vehicles, like when they were taking off the door tag or when he was writing on the clipboard, and could decifer the VIN.
Just checked the old thread...
Both cars were '70 Challengers. One unfortunately was a '70 R/T with a 440 made in LA.
"-the manufacture date from the sticker on the side of the drivers door shows a manufature year as "1969", not sure of the month.
VIN#=JS23U0E114291. Plug it into your VIN decoder. You get 1970 Dodge Challenger, Special-R/T, 440 375hp 4BBL made in LA Nice car!!!!
The car they stole to replace it:
-VIN#=JH23L0E142751. Which comes out to 1970 Dodge Challenger, High Price Class, 383 290hp 2BBL made in LA"
