I sometimes see a few guys at the marina working under the boat/trailers without jackstands, and I don't give a sh!t if they have been there 10 years longer than me, I still flip out on them and I go get them jackstands myself.
I always go completely overkill in those situations.......if there is such a thing as "overkill" when your own safety is involved.
A jack, chock blocks, and at least two sturdy stands is the VERY minimum.
