« on: January 10, 2009 - 08:52:57 AM »
Did the a Demon in 1971(and in 72) come with a 318??? With the Vin LL29G?  :-\
Dont know Demon, but this guy claimed they came 318 and that his Dart is real Demon, i thought they only came with 340 and had a LM29H vin... :cooldancing:

If my memory serves me correctly they did come with a 318 option and only if you ordered the 340 option then it would have that vin.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Demons were demons in 70 and 71, in 72 they called them "Dart Demon" and in 73 they moved to calling them just "Dart"

Demon's weren't made until 71, after the success of the Duster in 70.

and then this....from a wikipedia page...
The Demon fastback was renamed Dart Sport, in response to Christian groups' complaints about the "Demon" name and devil-with-pitchfork logo.[3] The high-performance models thus became Dart Sport 340 in 1973, and Dart Sport 360 for 1974 when the 360 cu in (5.9 L) V8 replaced the 340 cu in (5.6 L) V8.
