« on: January 10, 2009 - 05:54:56 PM »
well, heres my 2000.00 project, needs the usual lower quarter fix. doors are solid, pillars good, 1 rocker i will refab. lotta sheetmetal work, but i can handle it easy. the dope who put the new floor pans in did so OVER the rotted out part hahahaha!!!silly person.
all else is solid, and its a mostly complete car, so i think i did ok.

the skinny guy with all the tats is my boy chris. last time he was in a challenger was 13 years ago(hes 22) so hes excited as well.

I like this pic because you can see fresh chrome where someone took off those horrible huge rubber bumpers  :puke:

Looks like you got yourself a good project at a great price. Whole lot easier to start with a mostly there car than to try and piece it all together over time and bunches of thousands of dollars.

Not bad! Your timing is good this time around with all the new repro sheetmetal out there.

Watch out for Upper body rust on a Florida car. Kinda the opposite of what us rustbelt natives are used to!

Keep us posted on your project.

this car was from pennsylvania, and im from the midwest, so i was expecting all the usual suspects (sail panel, pillar rust, backglass lip gone, rockers) but i was actually pleasantly surprised. i do need to refab a rocker, and the rear drip rail on the passenger side is gone, but the inner b pillar is fine? kinda like a tornado i spose.

thanks for all the kind words, and motivation folks. as soon as i finish up a coupla other projects, im gonna tear into this one.

r11-AM radio music master
V7W-Accent stripes Longitudinal paint---White
26 L2 462  --You got me.  most tags have 26  on the end.  L2 is probably E2 which usually means end.

H51--air conditioning w/ ft heater
j52--Hood release, instrument panel mounted
M21-drip rail moldings
M26-Wheel lip moldings

JY9-The only Y9 I can find is GY9 which is Dark gold metallic
A6xw

e44-318 2barrel with 230 horse power
d34-standard duty automatic transmission
JH-challenger

I just realized that I am decoding a 1974 from a 69-71 book.  Sorry I don't have the later book so I am sure that a few of the options that I could not find will be inside the later decoding book.

Someone else here should be able to fill in the blanks that I left.

Thanks for the tag info, always love to read anothers tag.
