Looking real good. Could you show close ups of the work right under the door hinge. I have to do the same on my car but im a big chicken and dont want it to look like a hack did it. I have never done body work before but i can weld.Do they have a book "Body work for dummies" i need that.

ok, i got the one side pretty much freshened up. found a few small bad spots i made patches for. cleco'd the skin on, and ill cut it down the center and weld as i go to seamlessly fit the 2 peices. hammering the weld as i go. i hope these pics dont look as bad as i think they do, cause it doesnt look that bad in person haha.

Looks good, thanks for the details,looks like a twin to mine. I wish you were my neighbor id be like the little kid that follows you around,asking to many questions and wont leave you alone. :lol:. Do you use the same guage metal for the patches or a little thicker?

From the earlier pics the car looks really cool without the headlights/grill.  You going to restore it to stock?  Could imagine a custom front end on this car.  :grinyes:

 i finally put a real hood back on the car. and cleco'd the other 1/4 skin on.
i use 20 ga. sheetmetal, mics. out at .0359 , the fender i just checked is a bit toasty, but its close..(.040)
any thicker and id have to grow a second arm for my shear to work.  :banghead:

finished cutting out the disgusting bits on the passenger side, and got one piece done., woulda got more done, but they actually made me work at my day job!!!  :clueless:  :swear: :roflsmiley:

finished the front area on the passenger side, its now safe . i didnt finish sand that, so it sorta looks like i went crazy with a sharpie. but its just rough grind.
