Hey John are you going to shoot some color on where you gator lined it?  Was wondering what I will do to mine when I get there to make it more sound proof and better rust protection as well.

yes, the interior, and maybe the trunk, will be body color.
im gonna do the engine compartment during the mill swap.
this gator guard stuff is some tough material.
and it was reasonably priced.

Even if it was a light coat to give it some real life look would be great.  Might do something different for my trunk though
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

holy shizznitt batman!!   :eek2:

you guys are right!!!   :banghead:

grrrrr....

oh well, the colors off too, its actually the '71 - '72 gb5 blue thats gonna be shot on the car.
not this nancy blue.

thanks for pointing that out though.   :walkaway:

hahahah

Not like it matters, since it's just for modeling and motivation.  If it's one of Aaron's chops, I'm sure the base photo car is one of the New Zealand or Aussie cars.  Overall, it's an awesome chop - still has the reflections in  the chrome on the bumper and hood trim.

I too, am getting ready to shoot B5. I have been waffling on whether to go with the lighter, brighter 69/70 "nancy-boy" blue or stick with the 71-up GB5. Almost sure I'm sticking with original.

Nice work, John. You wanna come up to NC to practice painting?  :roflsmiley:

Looks nice!  I like the chrome trim up front!

Is there anywhere that reproduces the front trim, and hood trim. Mine is black, and I would prefer the chrome?

didnt do anything special jeff, just the usual make sure its clean.

Hey John, next time could you possibly be a little more vague if that is possible  :poopoke:

You have to realize that we are not all immortal body work vikings  :eek4:

Some of us do not even know how to "simply" prep a panel properly  :clueless:
Hence the reason we ask  :thinkerg:

So all I have to do before applying the gator liner is clean a panel with soap   :thinkerg:
My car will be done in no time  :swaying:  :roflsmiley:

"nancy blue"  :smilielol:
You must really love my chop then  :bigshades:

your such a jackass jeff!!

thats why we get along so well.

by cleaning i mean:

remove all debris (judging by your garage pics, i can take a 5 year break before even typing the next step!!)
rough surface up a bit with something abrasive (and no!! your personality will not work this time)
make sure all loose materials are eliminated. (i.e. vacuum them up)
once you are sure the area is clean of debris (see step 1) then you can use a cleaning agent such as a degreaser , remember here, your not trying to remove paint, just the contaminants.
the following only apply to jeff.

no huffing of chemicals
do not use oriental components!!!
do not exceed your body weight in alchohol consumed before beginning the procedure.

i truly hope that clarified everything to your satisfaction my friend(s)

and yes, i love your chop , nancy.
