Kidney stones.....I know they hurt
« on: January 11, 2009 - 01:30:07 PM »
It tares me up to see anyone hurting.

Clinton (jacksboys) came over to my place yesterday afternoon and my wife said her side was hurting a little. This was around 6pm.  She fixed Clinton and I Supper and said she wished her side would stop hurting.  Well we went out to my shop and was unloading his truck and she called on the cell phone asking me to come inside. She never complains.

The great nephew we were watching was screaming and she couldn't get up. The first thing out her mouth was....

Please take me to the ER.  And the rush was on. She cried all the way there. I was so torn up with her fealing that pain and I couldn't help her. She kept saying   ALAN please help me it hurts, I can't take it.

Luckily she was accepted straight in and they started on her right away.  Even tho there was a few ahead of her.  They gave her pain medicine in ten minutes from us walking in the door.  IV's and a medince to help her from nausia.  I told her to count backwards from 100 after I saw the nurse inject the pain killer.

She made it to 85 then said   AAAAAAHHHHHH.  3 hrs later I got her home in bed at midnight.  She is passing not 1 but many stones.  Anything under 5 mm you dont get surgery to have them removed.  It has been a long night and day today , but she is doing well. Gonna be a long couple of days tho.

I had stones 10 yrs ago.                THEY REALLY HURT       wish it was me again instead of her

sorry to hear that Alan, I have never had them, but know some friends that have, said it hurts like hell.

Please give your wife our well wishes and hope she gets through them with as little pain as possible.

So sorry to hear that Alan. Glad she got some relief and is now passing them. I have a friend that suffers with kidney stones often and it is said (coming from a woman) that it is as painful (or even more so) than giving birth. I could not even imagine as I not had to go through either!! :22yikes: She'll be in my prayers Alan. :angelwings:

I hope she gets better soon. I saw a piece once about using ultrasonic to break the stones into smaller pieces that are easier to pass.

My mother in law had them. We thought she had apendicitis and was going to die.

I hope she gets better quick. Such a nice lady shouldn't have to deal with this.

Hey Alan,

I guess the best thing was that you were home and not working out of town. Glad to hear Peggy is resting.

I remember my dad going though that when I was 16. It was just awful.

Hope the end comes real some.
