New from Granger, IN
« on: January 12, 2009 - 05:19:45 PM »
I'm fairly new to this forum and wish I would have stumbled on it sooner.  What an awesome resource for anyone working on an E-body project like myself.  I own a 1970 AAR Cuda that I have been restoring on and off for the past 5 years.  I have given up on estimating when it will be completed.  My initial estimate was 2 years.  Obviously, I missed that by a bit.  Anyway, what a value this site has.  Thanks to whoever started and maintains it.

You're right, R/T, I have been a member for a bit.  I had actually forgoten that I had signed up that long ago.  I have only really been active for the past week or so, so I do consider myself fairly new.  I am here to stay now.

Glennster:  You certainly are close to me.  Nice find with that Challenger.  How long have you had it?  I found mine in New Carlisle, IN.  They are out there aren't they?  You just have to look for them.

Welcome to the site!

Good find for an AAR.  What's your fender tag readout?

 :useless: :useless: :useless:

I guess not really worthless, but pictures sure would help!

Welcome to the site.  That's a very nice car you have, from what I've seen in your resto thread.  I like the color - I imagine it's pretty rare for an AAR.

cwestra,
I got mine last summer, mine was actually found by a MOPAR buddy while he was taking a Sunday morning dump. Is that TMI????? Heck no, we're all big boys!!!!! Here's what happened.........
I ran up to Paw Paw on a sunny Sunday afternoon to look at Charger, when I got back I called my buddy (Jim Stewart) to get his opinion on what I had seen. He said the price was too high for what I described to him.
Then, he remembered what he had seen that morning. It was an ad he saw in a MOPAR magazine (he gave me the magazine later), he said the price seemed too low and the options were strange. He said it was probably sold at that price, but he gave me the phone number. When I talked to the owner, I could tell this was a no BS guy. SOOOOO, I bought her......................
Jim later confessed that he was on the throne when he saw the advertisement, LOL, that still cracks me up ! ! ! ! ! !

Where are you with your Cuda? Is the engine in it, how about the interior?  Give us some details, we live for this stuff~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cuda Hunter:  Tag numbers are as follows (some numbers missing as there was a rust hole on right side.

EN1
N94 R11 V6H Y65 ???
J45 J82 M21 M86 N44 ?85
FK5 A53 A62 B51 C55 G34
FK5 H6X9 000 416 M04751
E55 D21 BS23 JOB 308510

Not sure what they code out to but its a Deep Burnt Orange 4 speed.  All original drive train (numbers matching) with 74,000 hard miles (it would appear).  I am the third owner.

I did start a thread in the Restoration Projects section so you can see how it has come along.  Pretty bad shape when I got it but looking better now.

Engine is out.  Body is completely stripped down.  Will start on the interior soon, although not looking forward to it.  Took advantage of the Legendary 25% off sale a few months ago and picked up covers foams, etc...

Great story on the white Challenger, Glennster.  Good for you for persuing it like that.  You buddy does good research sitting down.

Added a few pictures of some of the parts I'm cleaning up.  The carbs were done by my brother.
