My schedule this week should allow me to watch almost all of BJ should be interesting this year. GM is selling 200 cars at the auction.

I am going to watch as much as I can.  Any predictions on where the BJ market will end up this year?  Up or down?    :dunno:

judging by last year, mopars will probably stay down, for some reason the camaros still fetch a pretty good profit.  I don't think now is the time to sell a car, but definatley the time to buy one if you can

There really doesn't seem to be too many Mopars at BJ this time.  I guess we'll have to watch the results of some of the other auctions to get a good handle on what the market is like for our cars.

Being a no reserve auction, and with the car market the way it is, I'm betting the cars at B-J are not the best quality cars. Would you sell your top-end Mopar in today's market at no reserve? I know I wouldn't.

I wouldn't sell it at all if I wasn't forced to. Now is not the time to sell.

I would not want to do that either.  Too risky not knowing who will be there to buy and what they are willing to pay!!!
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

We have gone the last two years, but will be sitting this one out. Mainly because my friend that winters in Florida will not be making the trip to visit family in Phoenix. I do know that sellers do bid on their own cars there and in fact will actually buy them back, if the price is not good enough. This practice is illegal in some cases, but obviously not at BJ. I talked to a gentleman two years ago that had 2 1970 Hemi Cudas, then saw him the next day buying both his cars. So it really isn't a no reserve auction.

I'll bet all musclecars are down across the board and the exotics are even. Only exceptions I would think would be very rare top tier cars. I think that BJ will follow the economy for the most part.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

I just skimmed through the list of Mopars for Barrett Jackson and there are not that many to begin with and most of them are clones or 340 cars. I think I saw 1 real AAR cuda and 1 70 hemi cuda. Not many Challengers either.

BJ auction is one crooked place to sell or buy a car, especially when you have to bid on your own car, imagine the buyer's and seller's fees, not to mention all other BJ taxes, he makes out like a bandit , I just feel sorry for the guys who have alot of blood, sweat and tears  in some of those cars that barely bring $30k,when it takes over 100k to restore some of them ,

If you "know" somebody, or you complain enough, they will waive the buyers 8% fee if you buy your own car back, so it will only cost you 10% to keep your own car, what a deal!
