Kiwi Road Trip
« on: January 13, 2009 - 04:27:20 PM »
hey guys,
thought i'd post up some pics from the south island, new zealand road trip i just did over my holiday break.
two weeks and about 1800 miles through some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. (via some of the worst roads in the world, narrow, winding, and rough)
car ran great overall, one breakdown (rf wheel bearing) but i had it fixed the next day.

lots of great experiences, and lots of good feedback about the car.

milford sound, world heritage site and one of most spectacular places i've ever been. check out the boat for scale, it's a huge waterfall...

the route taken. the arm off to the west is the road to milford sound

360 degree panoramic photo from a peak near queenstown

part of the road to milford sound, for the last part of the drive in you're surrounded by massive rock cliffs, with water streaming down everywhere...
they get up to 10m of rain a year here!

cheers,
aaron

Very impressive pictures.  Look like postcards.  Especially the ones with the Cuda in it.

Aaron, those are some great photos.  (Middle Earth indeed!)  I'm especially impressed of the one of the glacier coming down the mountain.  I think that may need to be my new wallpaper here at work.  And, of course, your car looks bad ass.  The more I look at it, the more I like the all flat-black look.

Thank you for those stunning pics!!   :jumping:

They are beautiful.   :2thumbs:  Given the looks of your car, I'm guessing you spent some money on gas too.   :grinyes:

You are one lucky son of a @#$%^ to be able to have that experience!
And to be doing it with that car on top of it  :worshippy
Why do I feel like such a loser right now  :walkaway:
