My one year late intro from Jacksonville Florida
« on: January 17, 2009 - 12:23:32 AM »
Hey guys and girls, my name is Stefan,I appologize for my very late introduction, I stumbled in this great site about a year ago when I was on my mission to find E-body project car ,shortly after I found my 71 Barracuda in Oklahoma.I was very pleased with the condition of the car considering I bought it sight unseen with only 2 very poor quality pics to go by, I'm so glad I didn't get screwed. But it still needs alot of parts and work, usual roof, quarters, floors. It has solid frame rails, fenders, doors, rockers, cowl ,engine bay and firewall ,and a perfect ,flawless grille :woohoo: Though I bought it a year ago I still haven't touched it. Since I have too many projects and don't want to start on my Cuda till I'm ready, that way I can dedicate alot of my free time that I don't have on it instead of my other 8 projects. So I decided to finish atleast 3 of them to free up some room at the shop and money from them will help me fund my build,(don't worry none of them are E-body or even Mopar)  :bricks1:.It's just hard for me to contain myself not to start tearing into the Cuda when I get on here and see the progress on some of the member's cars, I may just have to atleast strip it down and get it blasted, I guess we'll see how long I can hold it

:drunk: Welcome to the site.  I am sure we all look forward to seeing a completed project on the car of the month one day.  Although, we will settle for some pics of a project car for now.   :picture:

Thanks alot, I just hope I will still be welcome when I start on my Cuda, since it will be powered by something unorthodox, but it's nothing surprising to any of my friends, cause they know what I've been working on and owned for nearly two decades and that is Supras,I pretty much know them inside out,if you show me a screw or a clip I would know where it's from,I guess you learn alot when you tear and put them together...

Keep in mind,I always loved the E-body Cuda eversince I came across some movie poster where the Cuda was in the air,I just never tried looking to buy one,but was thinking someday to own one,and finally 20+ years later I got it!

At first when I just bought my 71 I was planning to go with aluminum 528 HEMI,but my budget  would not cooperate too well with that idea ,beeing that there will be many one off custom made parts from suspension to body to interior, lighting and much more, so after few months I came up with not so simple solution ,but more easier on my budget, since I have a 1200+hp 2JZ +GT47-88 set up that cost me well over $30k  ,so that will be the powerplant for my bastard Cuda, it will be backed by no other than 6 speed Getrag Supra tranny.

So I appoligize to any and all purists in advance, this was the only solution I could come up with ,and I do not want to build a car with anything less than pure BAD-A$$,so non HEMI big blocks would not work for me,

I wish I had the access to all the equipment and experience building tube chassis as Bruning does, but I don't, so I will have to work with what I have and I'm sure I can accomplish what I have planned if only my budget, time and wife permits  :sadwavey:

Officially, welcome to the site!  While your engine choice may seem like something out of Tokyo Drift (the Skyline-powered 'Stang), at least it has a ton of power to back it up.  It should be interesting to watch this build come together as that Supra shell (yes, the one I originally thought was a Z) project turned out very cool and clean. :2thumbs:   Though you may get the feeling to put a stroked, twin-turbocharged 340-based 408/416 into it later on down the road... (a.k.a. my current plan)
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.
All-American Muscle: 'Cudas and Challengers...Still the Elite and always will be.

Thanks, I never had any intentions of even trying to copy anyone ,especially something out of moronic ricer flick,it's just the way everything has fallen into place, right now I can't justify spending another 30+k on a nice all aluminum 528 HEMI,when I have readily avaliable built 2jz setup,I also plan on daily driving this car, so the HEMI would drain my wallet quick with 8-10 mpg, but you never know, if I ever do decide to go with a V8,it will have to be nothing less than a turbo 528 HEMI,I'll just have to see how I will like Toyota power in a Cuda ,there is a possibility that I might convince myself to go with a a crazy TT V8,

I figured you weren't trying to mock the build-up from Tokyo Drift.  Rather, it just so happened you already had built 2JZ and figured you may as well drop it into the 'Cuda.  No worries as I'm sure you'll have it done very tastefully. :2thumbs:
