Visited Carlisle Today
« on: January 17, 2009 - 08:38:12 PM »
Wife & I decided to escape the cold and on our way to (hopefully) sunny/warm Florida and stopped for first time in Carlisle, PA    Had a nice lunch at the diner next to the fairgrounds (kind of found it by accident).......    Nice folks there.....     It is 498 miles from my place in Vermont -- a bit of a drive (so says my wife) in one of the Challengers -- but I think it would be good thing to do next July......

Oh  ....   and when we left it was about 15 below zero and we haven't seen temps much above zero the whole way (yet)......

Thats great vermont . . . when I drive there . . it was 502 miles from my front door to the hotel where we stay.  Usually takes about 8 hours . . . well worth the drive.  I may go in 2009?   :dunno:

 Don't rush back man.
It's still cold as hell in New England  :woo:.......and it's snowing now on top of that  :woohoo: ........   :grinno:

"(so says my wife)".................O boy  :violin:

Don't get me wrong. I mean there is nothing better than not driving a car you love.
Not getting the breeze in your hair.
Not getting out on the open road and just going.
Not having people giving you the thumbs up.
All these thing are terribly overrated.
But some people do like these things and the feeling that comes from experiencing any of the above.

I say go for it
What's the worst that can happen, someone may give ya a thumbs up  :22yikes: :nono: :swear:

Oh bah - you've been "maybe going" for as long as I've been a club member...  and every year you show up.  :)  You wouldn't miss it for the world and neither will I.

Don't be teasin'.  See you at Carlisle.  :)

Ah, Carlisle..........

Good food, nice folks and quite a Mopar show come July!

Stop at the Middlesex Diner (on 11 right near I81) on the way back. I've never had a bad meal there!

We didn't see temps above 30 until we hit South Carolina!   We took the Blue Ridge Parkway for about 150 miles in Virginia -- very nice country (sure wish I had the Challenger on that part of the drive -- although I did have to dodge a few deer (dodge the deer with a Dodge  :22yikes:)

If you were on the Blue Ridge Parkway, you were jsut about 1/2 hour from me.  Have a safe trip.  I wouldn't mind being in Florida right now.
