He's in....
« on: January 20, 2009 - 03:18:56 PM »
Barack Obama is officially the 44th President of the United States of America.

I personally voted for him, and I'm very anxious to see what will happen.

But regardless of whether you voted for him, regardless of whether you agree with him or not - We the People of the USA have made History today.  I sincerely hope that united as citizens of this great country, we will all hope and pray for Obama's success.  Whether you like him or not he IS our President, and he needs us just as much as we need him.

So join me please in showing your patriotism and loyalty by displaying our colors.  God speed, Barack.  I personally can't imagine the pressure you're under, but you've earned our trust and we'll support you as you tackle our Nation's challenges.

Jeff

Personally I did not vote for him and fear that his change that he promises will not be for the better. I hope he proves me wrong and that he does great things for this country.

:2cents:  As bad an George W. had for a rating, I felt bad for him today.  It's like they were waiting for him to pack his bags and kick him out for the next tenant.  I'm not saying I'm for or against Bush, I just felt bad for him.

Yep, Obama is here, for atleast 4 years.  I hope things will shape up with Obama at the helm.  :grinyes:

I agree that we should all pray for our new president and in fact all our leaders.  And I am.  It's unfortunate that Bush did not receive the support currently being demanded for by Obama supporters.

As a lifelong resident of the Chicago area, I am well aware, having witnessed first hand for decades, that you can count on Chicago to produce great hot dogs, excellent pizza, Cubs teams that will never win the world series, and corrupt politicians. :misbehaving:  I hope he will rise above the sleazy environment that he cut his teeth in, and be a great leader, we sure need it right now!  But seeing how he has appointed a bunch of Chicago and Clinton regime politicians to his cabinet, I wouldn't hold your breath for any type of "change" any ethical, honest person would want to "believe in".  But time will tell.............  :dunno:

I hope he can deliver on his promises. It certainly won't be an easy task, and I'm pretty sure things will get worse before they get better. But if he can pull off half of things he says he will, I think we'll be better off.

I for one hope that he can't deliver on his promises.

I want a thriving economy, based on the free market.

A strong military not fettered by political correctness.

Personal Responsibility, not welfare for all.

Oh, well, guess I won't get what I want.

What amazes me is that people on automotive enthusiast posting boards aren't scared as he!! right now.  I think we can pretty much plan on new "carbon taxes" using the global warming or climate change or whatever they are calling it these days since the weather has trended colder, as an excuse to tax anything that leaves a so called "carbon footprint".  Want to drive your car/truck/motorcycle/snowmobile/boat?  No problem, but you'll be paying a 50 cent or so a gallon carbon tax.  Want to heat your home or turn on the lights if your power company uses coal or gas to generate your electricity?  Carbon tax.  Of course any item you buy will go up in price because the producers/shippers etc will pass on their carbon taxes to you.  If you work for the private sector it will increase the cost of doing business which will mean less money for raises, or maybe even to keep your job.
It's really going to suck, and to all that voted for him and for the majority in both the house and senate, a classic example of the phrase "be careful what you wish for".  :2cents:
People wanted "change" but I would bet in a couple years most of us will be wishing for the good old days like existed not too long ago.

Personally I think you will end up leek Canaduh in the late 60s Treudea made a ton of promises & spent $$ like a drunken sailor on shore leave , my generation is now in debt paying it all back until I am at least 80 years old or more , this has wiped out my entire generation from the time I was 7 -80 paying a debt I never got the benefit of guess why I want to leave here ?????????? ???
