This is my '72 Chally.  It has a full '70 R/T drivetrain and suspension.

This is the engine.  I plan on swapping the Moroso valve covers for Mopar Performance ones as soon as I have the $$

A side shot in the garage.  You can see the lift-off hood in the background.  If you look, you can also see the rollcage.

and one more for good measure.

If you look carefully, you'll see that this car does not have rear side markers, or an antenna.  A throwback to it's days as a racer.  I never bothered to cut out the marker holes in the fibreglass quarters, or cut out a hole for an unecessary antenna.  You can't really tell it's tubbed, with the tires on it, but you can see the custom side exit exhaust.

Hope you like.

It's been improved since, but this is an old pic of my garage.  On the left is a pic of me on the hood of my dad's '72 Chally ( I was 3 yrs old) and my fave pic of me with my Dodge enlarged and mounted.  On the right is framed magazine ads for the Challenger.  I have since added a few more.  There's my Chally parking only sign, and a wicked-cool clock.  It's a Tach, with Challenger R/T.  The far right is the mini-poster for VP, and a framed still, and a 2Fast..calendar with the Hemi Challenger.

I thought the "R/T" ended in '71?  '72-'74 Challengers were "Rallyes" weren't they?

It has a full '70 R/T drivetrain and suspension.

This means he's got the heavy duty equipment from a '70 E-body in there... probably a 727HD and whatever engine... it's not a numbers car, nor an R/T... just a clone...

dw..

10 yrs ago I bought a yellow '70 R/T Challenger but the frame was pretty gone, so when I got this all fibreglass '72 shell, I had my mechanic swap the entire car from one, into the other.  The only non-'70 R/T donated pieces on this car is the body, the seats (originally white, I opted for black) and the steering wheel (cuz I had three really good conditioned ones handy).  Everything else is '70 R/T donated and cleaned up.  The drivetrain, rear suspension, front susp. brakes...you name it.

although it is not an actual R/T car, it does have everything on/in it that makes an R/T and R/T, but the badging and the header/tail panels.

As LB says, it's a clone...although I have not badged it as an R/T, or called it one outside of my circles as to not confuse the "masses"

Heck, I once convinced a squeegy kid that it was a 1979 Dodge Aries..he went running over to his group, screaming about this AWESOME Dodge Aries he just saw...yeah, it was pretty funny.

Your Challenger looks great. Hey, where did you get the "no Parking-challenger only" sign? :)

Eddy, thanks for the compliment.  I was out workin on it all yesterday, and hope to have it back on the road by the end of the week.  More kill stories in the works.

I got the sign from EBay, of all places.  It's basically a piece of plastic, with stick-on lettering that anybody with access to a Home Depot and a little time and imagination could make in their spare time.  I think I paid about $10 for it.
