So, will this count as an accident?  :dunno: It'd be funny, in an ironic way, if hitting yourself made your rates go up.

Thats good.

I just got my hernia surgery bill.  Even with insurance it was a hefty chunk.   :eek7:

Probably the only huge bonus about suffering up here in the cold....don't think I ever paid a dime for medicare, unless it was for medication or if you want to go to a private clinic to speed up the process.    :bananasmi

The movie Sicko really blew me away how other countries handle medicare...just crazy.

Absolutely insane isn't it?  I have personally(for my family) paid 30K in the last 2yrs in Health Insurance costs.  Since We are REQUIRED to have Health insurance in MA and I'm Self Employed it's insane.  I'm better off making less $$ and the state will pay it for me. :blah:  I truly believe it would have been much less than that if I had no insurance.  I look at the bills that the insurance co gets and pays.  I also negotiate the remaining balance with the Dr's office and they take 25% off EVERY TIME.  Steve, do not pay the full price on your bill.  Just call them and tell them you will pay right then and they will drop the price.

Tom

Good for you Stroker, I bet the policy goes up though.  Either that or they drop you. :pullinghair:

Hey a fellow Canadian here too, you should consider your taxes dude, our health care ain't free!!! In the USA they pay for the most part 1/3 of the taxes we pay!! My neighbours' next door ,an elderly couple just got booted out of their house by the bank  as they used up all their equity in the house paying for home health care! Pluses and minuses on both sides! The key...... don't get sick! ANYWHERE!
