Google Maps (street view)
« on: January 25, 2009 - 08:16:34 AM »
Anyone done this in a while? the new street view is sweet.

here is an example: go to google maps and copy/paste this address - 232 E 28th St, Baltimore, MD, 21218, United States

then, click on the street view or the little yellow guy at the top of the zoom tab. take a look around. thats a 73 Mexican Production Dodge Dart!!!!

I looked at my house and, gulp, my father is getting on his Harley!!  :faint: Hey MEK, if you wanna know where I live PM me. I didnt want to broadcast it here....  :blah:

I checked out my address. The pic is from the middle of the street, so you have to pan far right to see a blur that is mine. Luckily you can't make out what the cars are.   :naughty:

I can't imagine how much it cost to send people around snapping pictures on every street.    :money:

It's pretty cool, I was talking to my cuz in Australia while I looked up her address and there it was her little street in the middle of nowhere.
I had never seen that before we were both amazed at the view.
It was like we were a lot closer all of a sudden.

I understand that there were quite a few lawsuits involving the people that were hired to drive down every street with 360 degree rotating cameras as they went down a few private drives and also a few folks saw the "Milkman" in the driveway!!! Wait.....is that my best friends car?? Spy on your neighbors, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend. Big brother is coming!!! Pretty cool stuff!!! :2thumbs:

Bummer - my "little yellow guy" isn't lit - they don't have street view in my area or I'm quite sure I could show you an Ebody...

For what it's worth, I'm quite positive my 'Cuda is available from the satellite view - I can clearly see a white car right where I park.

In some ways it is cool, in others not so cool.

I had my identity stolen last year. The theives used it to open domain names to scam other people out of money. The domains are registered in my name, with my address though I have nothing to do with them or the website. So someone can go to google maps, find my house and see my car.

If you were swindled out of some money by a website and were able to find out who it might have been, and where they live, would you pay them a visit?

It's not a comfortable feeling.....
