Steering column removal
« on: January 26, 2009 - 04:37:28 PM »
I am in the process of removing the column on my 72' cuda.
Is there any trick to removing this pin and pulling the column?

Thanks
Bill

IIRC, it's a roll pin.  I used a flat drift punch + hammer on mine.

You definitely need a punch to get it out. The diameter is the same as the bolts holding down the valve covers.   :grinyes: I used an old valve cover bolt. Even after that, you will need a pry bar to get the shaft off the steering box.
